Asahi Kasei Corporation will
discontinue the listing of its shares on the Frankfurt
and Luxemburg stock exchanges, in accordance with the decision
of its Board of Directors on May 29, 2003. The related
applications for withdrawal will be filed with both exchanges
in early June, and completion of the withdrawal at both
is expected by the end of the calendar year 2003.
This decision has been reached in the light of the small
volumes of Asahi Kasei Corporation share transactions at
both exchanges and the minimal effect of the withdrawal
on shareholders of Asahi Kasei Corporation.
