Production of extruded sheet for light diffusion plates at Delaglas Korea
|
Asahi Kasei Chemicals Corp. (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, Japan; President: Kenji Fujiwara) and partners Raygen Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Chilgok-kun, Kyeongsangbuk-do, Korea; President: Sung-gul Tae) and Samsung Corp. (Head Office: Seongnam, Gyeonggi-do, Korea; President: Chi Sung-Ha) have decided to add a line for production of extruded sheet for light diffusion plates at their joint venture Delaglas Korea Corp.
Delaglas Korea has produced extruded sheet for LCD light guides since November 2003. These light guides are used in the backlight units of LCD computer monitors. Unlike LCD monitors, LCD TVs generally use light diffusion plates, and as production of LCD TVs expands demand for extruded sheet for light diffusion plates is growing sharply, particularly in Korea. Production by Delaglas Korea will augment production in Japan by Asahi Kasei Chemicals, providing stable supply of extruded sheet for light diffusion plates in the key Korean market.
