Completion of Dorlastan™ acquisition

The acquisition by Asahi Kasei Fibers Corp. (AKF) of the Dorlastan™ spandex business of Germany's Lanxess Group, including production facilities in Germany and the US, was completed today, in accordance with the sale and purchase agreement signed late last year.

The German operations of the Dorlastan™ business are now organized in a new AKF subsidiary, Asahi Kasei Spandex Europe GmbH. The subsidiary for Dorlastan™ operations in the US will shortly be renamed from Dorlastan Fibers LLC to Asahi Kasei Spandex America LLC.

Integration of the customer relationships, marketing and distribution networks, world-class production facilities, and highly skilled workforce of the Dorlastan™ business with AKF's established Roica™ spandex operations will enable enhanced response to customer needs throughout the world markets for high-quality, high-performance spandex filament and yarn.
