Contact carrier material for waste water treatment using Saran™Fiber
Saran™ fiber is said that there is a character to put the microorganism in the wastewater easily on the surface of the fiber. This character is used and saran TM fiber is used widely as a material for the bio-film contactor to purge the wastewater
Usage example
- (1 ) Bio String Contactor
- String contact media using Saran™ multi-filament with a wide surface area by knitting like the loop
- (2) Three-dimensional non-woven cloth (SaranLock™) contactor
- SaranLock™ is a three-dimensional non-woven cloth that used Saran™Fiber that the curl is done like spring. Therefore, it has a big space rate and the wide surface area, and it is used widely as a contactor of the bio-film method.
Bio-String Contactor
Saran Bio-String Contactor is contact media that knit the Saran™Fiber like the loop. It has a wide space area because it knits it with a fine fiber. Therefore, it is popular when the wastewater is efficiently treatable.
Raschel type Because the loop is densely-knitted, and the aeration chiefly touches the region of the lateral zone of contactor, the aerobic treatment can be expected in the surface part of contactor. Oppositely an anaerobic treatment can be expected in the central portion of contactor. |

Surface area (1) means both the surface area of Saran Fiber and the ground fiber.
Surface area
(2) means only the surface area of Saran Fiber.

(2)Bio-contactant 3-D Nonwoven(SaranLock™)
SaranLock™ is widely adopted as a contactor of the bio-film method by the character that the microorganism adheres easily in the wastewater and the structure that it is bulky and the surface area is wide. The use to the bio contactor of SaranLock™ is two of the following.
- (a)Fixed-bed contactor
- Method of SaranLock™ soaking in wastewater, and aerating.
SaranLock™ using Saran™Fiber of 1000d or 4000d is used well. - (b)Rotationg Disc contactor
- Method of SaranLock™ processing to discoid, and rotation around wastewater with aeration. SaranLock™ using Saran™Fiber of 4000d is used well.
