The Asahi Kasei Group positions sustainability as an important focus of management, and promotes a wide range of efforts in this regard. From July 1 to August 31, 2022, we held a Sustainability Photo Contest among our personnel around the world (approximately 50,000) to raise awareness for sustainability and to enhance bonds among personnel. For the second consecutive year, we decided to make the donation based on the number of entries to the contest and the opinions of entrants.

Many of the photos entered in the contest depicted children, and parents with children, looking forward to a sustainable future. In support of the activities of UNICEF to protect the life and health of children around the world who will be the next generation, we decided to make a donation through UNICEF Inspired Gifts. UNICEF Inspired Gifts is a program to provide children in developing countries with supplies specified by UNICEF. According to UNICEF, over half a million children die each year from diarrheal diseases caused by contaminated water. In addition, as there were several floods and water-related disasters due to abnormal weather this year, water purification tablets were chosen for this year's donation. The donation of 3.65 million water purification tablets can purify approximately 14.60 to 18.25 million liters of water (equivalent to approximately 30 million 500 ml bottles.) The water purification tablets will be delivered to children around the world through UNICEF.

The Asahi Kasei Group contributes to life and living for people around the world to achieve a sustainable society.
