The Asahi Kasei Group positions sustainability as an important focus of management, and promotes a wide range of efforts in this regard. Since 2021, Asahi Kasei has held a Sustainability Photo Contest among its personnel to raise awareness for sustainability and to enhance bonds among them.
Many of the photos entered in the contest depicted children, and parents with children, looking forward to a sustainable future. For the third consecutive year, Asahi Kasei decided to make a donation through UNICEF Inspired Gifts from the perspective of protecting the life and health of children around the world who will be the next generation, based on the number of entries to the contest. UNICEF Inspired Gifts is a program to provide children in developing countries with supplies specified by UNICEF.
Tuberculosis (TB) is a deadly but preventable infectious disease in developing countries. Many children around the world die from TB due to lack of vaccination. BCG vaccines, which can effectively prevent the development of severe TB in children, were selected as this year's UNICEF Inspired Gift. The vaccines will be delivered by UNICEF to areas of the world where they are needed.
The Asahi Kasei Group contributes to life and living for people around the world to achieve a sustainable society.
