Asahi Kasei Corp.

Asahi Kasei has decided to provide 51,000 bars of hand soap to children around the world through the UNICEF Inspired Gifts program of the Japan Committee for UNICEF.

The Asahi Kasei Group positions sustainability as an important focus of management, and promotes a wide range of efforts in this regard. From March 1 to April 30, 2021, we held a Sustainability Photo Contest among our personnel around the world (approximately 45,000) to raise awareness for sustainability and to enhance bonds among personnel in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. We decided to make the donation based on the number of entries to the contest and the opinions of entrants.

Many of the photos entered in the contest depicted children, and parents with children, looking forward to a sustainable future. In support of the activities of UNICEF to protect the life and health of children around the world who will be the next generation, we decided to make a donation through UNICEF Inspired Gifts. UNICEF Inspired Gifts is a program to provide children in developing countries with supplies specified by UNICEF. The Asahi Kasei Group chose hand soap which can help prevent Covid-19 infections. The soap bars will be delivered to children around the world through UNICEF.
