Japan Elastomer’s Oita Plant receives Platinum Medal in EcoVadis Sustainability Assessment

The Asahi Kasei Group’s First Platinum Medal

Asahi Kasei announces that the Oita Plant of Japan Elastomer Co., Ltd., a joint venture between Asahi Kasei and Resonac Corporation, received a Platinum Medal Sustainability Rating, the highest rating available, from EcoVadis1 in December 2023. The Platinum Medal indicates a sustainability assessment in the top 1% of all companies evaluated. This is the first time for the Asahi Kasei Group to obtain the Platinum rating.

EcoVadis assesses corporate initiatives and achievements on sustainability in four themes of the Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement. Our evaluation was particularly high in the Environment and Labor & Human Rights.

EcoVadis performs its assessment based on international standards of sustainability, and over 120,000 companies from more than 180 countries across 200 industries have been assessed. The EcoVadis assessment is increasingly recognized as an objective evaluation of corporate sustainability initiatives and achievements.

As the Asahi Kasei Group continues to advance initiatives for sustainability, this Platinum Medal rating serves as an encouragement to further reinforce efforts to achieve a sustainable society.
