Notice concerning press release issued by W-SCOPE Corporation

Regarding "Notice of Response to Patent infringement Litigation" issued by W-SCOPE Corporation on February 1, 2021, there are statements that diverge from the facts, so Asahi Kasei would like to inform you of the following.
The abovementioned press release states, "the product found to be infringing by the judgment is Limited to ”12 µm (thickness) * 150mm (width) * 200m (length)” & single layer separators only."
However, Asahi Kasei's Patent No. ZL200680046997.8 limits the thickness of the product to 1 µm or more and 50 µm or less, but does not limit the width or length of the product.
Asahi Kasei will continue to pay close attention to the issues concerning its intellectual property rights and will take proactive measures, if necessary, to protect them.
