Asahi Kasei filed litigation for infringement of patent rights of Ceolus™ in China

On April 18, 2025, Asahi Kasei Corp. filed litigation for infringement of its Chinese patent rights at the Nanjing Intermediate People’s Court in Jiangsu Province, against Jiangsu WestPoint Pharmaceutical Excipients Co., Ltd. (WestPoint) of Taizhou City, Jiangsu Province, China.
The litigation seeks injunction against the sale of relevant products by WestPoint and compensation for damages based on Asahi Kasei’s Chinese patent related to Ceolus™ microcrystalline cellulose, a pharmaceutical excipient.
Asahi Kasei values intellectual property rights as important management resources, and will continue to protect its intellectual property through resolute action against infringement of its intellectual property rights.
